THE QUEST FOR GOOD MANNERS is a story
about a princess named Rosalind and her pet dragon, Sparkler, who get banished
from the castle for their bad behavior.
Unless they develop good manners, they cannot return. Their quest for good manners takes them on a
journey that presents them with situations that tests their behavior.
A story on good manners, as indicated by the title, may not sound appealing. But don't let the title fool
you. A story with a magical fork, a
fire-breathing dragon, an endearing princess, and a high-flying adventure is sure to grab the
attention of readers. THE QUEST FOR GOOD
MANNERS manages to teach a lesson in an engaging way and transports the readers
to a fairy tale fit for the prince and princess in your household.
This is the book I've been waiting for. Children hate to be reminded of their manners. Give them this book to read and they will be reminding themselves as they hold their fork in their hands. I thought the magical fork was a clever addition to the story. Similar to the Sword in the Stone, one of Rosalind's task is to pull the golden fork out of a rock. If successful, she would have passed the first task and the fork will then guide her on the rest of her journey to making wise decisions and practicing good behavior.

A book on good manners is always a winner
with parents, and I'm sure A QUEST FOR GOOD MANNERS will be a winner with children. Karin Lefrance intertwines the universal message of kindness
and respect with story-telling that will delight the readers.

ReplyDeleteA book on manners is always good, especially if it includes a dragon and a princess.
DeleteA tricky way to sneak in lessons about good manners. A cute story makes good manners pretty cool:)

DeleteThis is a lovely review, and sounds like a lovely book. (I wonder how the 11-year-olds I work with over the summer would take it ...) ;)
ReplyDeleteMy 12 year-old thought it was a nice story. But this picture book is written for 4-8 year-olds IMO.
DeleteI love a book giveaway! I also like your style...interviewing first-time authors is a wonderful idea!
